WrestleMania 22 Match-by-Match Preview

Triple H vs. John Cena: I have the Bad match-Good match raito for this one to be 7:3. I still think HHH is pretty good at guiding the match. The problem is when lots of people cheer when H is on offense, and boo when Cena is on offense. Prediction: WM18-HHH over Jericho, WM19-HHH over Booker T, WM20-Benoit over HHH (and HBK), WM21-Batista over HHH. Since it’s 2-2, I say HHH wins this year.

Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels: This isn’t Austin-McMahon or Hogan-McMahon… or Hart-McMahon. That last one would be insane. I will go on record saying that this will NOT happen, but if Bret Hart comes to the ring mid-match and gives a chair shot to both Vince and Shawn, that would cause an insane pop. Otherwise, I still think this is a waste of Shawn Michaels. I hate fanatasy booking, but it would have been cool if HBK stayed heel from SummerSlam, and faced off someone at Mania as a bad guy. Prediction: HBK gets his revenge.

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio: Angle just lost to Mark Henry at Smackdown. With WWE holding back on the Eddie Guerrero exploitation, Rey doesn’t have much steam either, and being thrown into the Main Event onthe whim of the GM doesn’t help. It would be nice to see Randy be chased by several opponents as champion. 2005 was mostly babyface Cena and babyface Batista being chased by heels. 2004 was mostly heel JBL and heel HHH being chased. Maybe it would be good to have Rey being chased as a babyface and HHH on RAW? Anyway, this year is probably the bset year for Rey to get the title and dedicate it to Eddie. I would like to see all of Eddie’s (and Rey’s) friends and family go to the ring and celebrate at the end of the PPV. Prediction: Rey, and have Orton as a contender until summertime or so.

Edge vs. Mick Foley: This seems like such a throwaway match, and it deserved more buildup. Nevermind the fact that Edge was pushed down since he did better than HHH, and Mick is being treated as a novelty act as punishment. Still, they could pull off an exciting few hardcore spots. Prediction: Edge if WWE creative still wants to punish Foley for almost signing with TNA. Foley if WWE creative still wants to punish Edge for doing better as the main event heel than HHH.

Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James: I would like to see psycho Mickie take control of most of the match. Prediction: Trish gets beat for most of the match, but makes a comeback. Maybe a rematch later?

Money in the Bank ladder match: Last year, Shelton Benjamin was IC champ and didn’t win the Money in the Bank. This year, Shelton Benjamin is IC champ and he isn’t going to win the Money in the Bank. Other people involved are RVD, Ric Flair, Matt Hardy, Fit Finlay, and Bobby Lashley. RVD, Shelton, and Matt Hardy will do most of the high-spots, but that doesn’t mean that the others will make it boring. With six people, it doesn’t matter too much if a few people are on the ground (Finlay and Lashey). I hope Ric Flair doesn’t get hurt. Prediction: Ric Flair wins, beats HHH and holds the title for a month and gives it back.

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry: No-brainer. I think Taker losing his last WmrestleMania will mean a lot. Not against Henry though. Prediction: Undertaker 14-0.

Chris Benoit vs. JBL. Not too much build-up for this one. Prediction: JBL.

Boogeyman vs. Booker T. Please keep this one short. Prediction: Boogeyman worms Sharmell.

Candice Michelle vs. Torrie Wilson pillow fight: Blah. 20 years ago, getting pictures of unclothed women was hard. In this day and age, you just need to go on the internet. Candice is on there from previous stuff shedid. Prediction: I don’t care.
